Sunday, Sunday, Sunday
It's Sunday. That means I'm by myself mostly. Especially today when Zuko is studying at his house and on the search for a jersey to give to Joe-mai. You see, friends, today is an important day for us here in Charger land. Today is the day we play Mr. Manning and his team. Zuko, Joe-Mai and the Swing Kid are going to the game tonight, and I'll be on the lookout for them and my boyfriend #81 on t.v. It should be interesting.
Lots of stuff today....(And the layout is funny because I was trying stuff, and finally figured it out, but don't want to change it. Any questions? Good.)
First, I wanted to introduce you to my Secret Pals, because I just realized I didn't do that. So, here goes... I gifted Courtney from Knit to Know. And I was gifted by Amy from Threaded Thoughts. I need to send something in thanks, because I really loved my gifts. Visit them, read them...
You see this?
That would be because of the many projects, such as this one. Action had to be taken, so this Under the Hoodie and I played a little Frogger. Yes, friends...I killed it. Two reasons. First, I realized that doing it in the round to avoid purling was stupid and boring. Second, I thought I'd be a good knitter and actually swatch for it. So, it's not technically dead. Some of us believe in reincarnation, right?
This is another project that was using up my needles, so I buckled down and finally finished it. It shouldn't have taken me that long, but we all know about my KADD, so enough of that.
Here's a picture of it in action. That's Zuko's head. It fits perfect, but only because I had him try it on a bunch of times. You like?I put myself on a crafty stuff ban this month after I collected my yarn receipts and busted out the calculator. It was pretty surprising. So in an attempt to save money for something more useful than yarn and stuff, I had to talk myself into a budget. I have to say that I did an exceptional job, and only faltered once by purchasing a Spin Off magazine. In an attempt to stash bust I have planned out projects for some of the yarns in my stash.
This is a half pound of Alpaca tweed that I bought at the Torrance fiber fest awhile ago. It's soooooo soft. I'm planning on making a clapotis with it. It won't be as fun and funky as the original, but I could wear it to work and it'll be a helluva lot softer than anything you can find. Mmmmmmmmm...can't wait. I'm knitting along with SP Courtney. Hers, I think will be of the more colorful type.
This is 7 skeins of Peruvian Highland Wool in black from Elann. It's going to become a circular sweater knockoff thing.
My mom keeps asking for shawl of some type, so I decided I would make her one for Christmas. But that ban posed a problem, of course. But wait! I bought two cones of white 100% lace weight at am vets last summer. I'm planning on dying it and making a kiri shawl. Is it messed up to use am vet yarn for your mom's Christmas gift? But it's about the thought and love, isn't it?
Last, but never least a picture of my two boys. One reading about blogging and economics, the other wishing someone would just throw the ball.'Till next time boys and girls........(which will probably be today)
